Tom’s Tangy BBQ Sauce

A simple BBQ Sauce Recipe that is more tangy than sweet I found out of chance. Always a hit with the crowd:

Riffing off of a conventional BBQ Sauce recipe, but leaving out the white vinegar and using Open Pit instead of ketchup. So it’s like taking Open Pit and adding to the flavors that are already there. Fun, and very easy!


  • 1/2 Cup Open Pit Classic BBQ Sauce
  • 1 SM. Onion, minced
  • 1 TBSP Yellow Mustard
  • 1 TSP Fresh Crushed Black Pepper
  • 1 TBSP Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 TBSP Brown Sugar
    (Scale up portions as needed)

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and set aside until your meat is cooked enough to add. Continue to turn meat and add more BBQ Sauce on each side. Reserve some sauce for  serving.
